Losing Marc-Andre Fleury at the beginning of the Las Vegas Golden Knights' offseason was just painful to watch. What made it worse was the fact that he had just come off winning the Vezina Trophy. Somehow, that wasn't enough for the team to keep him.
The Golden Knights needed salary cap space and decided to deal Fleury to the Chicago Black Hawks. Keep in mind, this was after his career-best season of 1.98 goals allowed per game, a .928 save percentage, and a spot on the second all-star team. The future was so bright with the goalie combination of Robin Lehner and Fleury that many wonder why the Knights didn't try to make it work.
