The Las Vegas Aces had the odds stacked against them during the 2020 season, but they never really let that bother them. In fact, despite losing Liz Camabge and Kelsey Plum, the team managed to make the playoffs with relative ease. They would then end up going on a postseason run that would become their best in the organization's history. A run that could have led them to their first championship.

The Aces eventually made it to the Finals, where they faced the Seattle Storm in what they hoped would be their defining moment. Sadly, the injury-ridden Aces couldn't keep up with the Storm and got swept in the Championship Series. A'ja Wilson did win league MVP honors despite the loss, but the sweep left a bad taste in sports fans' mouths. It also seemed to have killed The Ace's momentum going forward.
