According to a new report from CNBC, The Oakland Athletics have put in a bid to buy the Tropicana, a resort on the Las Vegas Strip. If the bid is accepted, the team will be the third professional sports organization to come to Las Vegas in the last four years. The land will be approximately 33 acres and allow the Athletics to finally build their dream stadium.
“As we have seen with the NHL and the NFL, Las Vegas is a great place to have a pro team,” Clark County Commissioner Jim Gibson said in a statement. “We have the best fans in the country and if this comes to fruition, it would be very exciting to welcome Major League Baseball to our community."
