It's no secret that The Las Vegas Golden Knights are having one of their worst seasons in organization history, and it just got much worse during Friday's game against the Nashville Predators. Unfortunately for The Knights, who are caught in an intense playoff push with several other teams in their division, they lost forward Brett Howden during their game.
The incident occurred during the first period of play when Filip Forsberg made contact with Howden and sent him crashing into the boards. The move didn't seem intentional, and Forsberg even stayed to check on Howden while he was being stretchered out, but it was still a big blow to the team. How many more pieces can Las Vegas lose before their playoff chances implode?
Las Vegas sports fans will be happy to know that Howden was released from the hospital the day after the game and even showed up to practice to meet with Coach Peter Deboer. The coach later confirmed that Howden was ok during a press conference but did also hand over the bad news that Max Pacioretty would be out for an extended period of time. This all comes as the Golden Knights struggle just to limp into the playoffs.
