We have our crystal ball out, so you know what that means. It's time for a few predictions about Las Vegas Aces.
#5 Riquina Williams gets released
[caption id="attachment_40690" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Source. YouTube[/caption]
Riquina Williams isn't a good fit for the Las Vegas Aces anymore. She has proven that after being accused of assaulting her wife during a domestic dispute. She was also charged with a plethora of other crimes, but they were dropped after her spouse stopped cooperating. Williams is now out on bail and still recovering from a lingering back injury. Despite this development, the Aces have suspended her and didn't lift the ban for the playoffs either. The team was still able to win a championship without her.Williams just doesn't deserve to wear an Aces jersey, and her contract is up anyway. The Aces should free up some capital by cutting her. There's an abundance of players who want to compete for the Aces after their second championship.
#4 Candace Parker retires
[caption id="attachment_40689" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Source. YouTube[/caption]
Candance Parker being a part of the Las Vegas Aces has been an enriching experience, but it doesn't mean it's meant to last. Parker’s contract is up after only one season in Las Vegas, which came to an end early after an injury. She also reportedly weighted retirement back in 2023 before signing with The Aces.Between the injury and retirement already on her mind, the obvious idea is for her to hang up her jersey for good. She’s already won championships and has nothing left to prove on the hardwood. This move also frees up cap space for the Aces and allows them to possibly look toward other free-agent stars.
#3 Las Vegas loses more than ten games in 2024
[caption id="attachment_40688" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Source. Facebook[/caption]
The 11 other teams in the WNBA are all in the tape room trying to dissect the Las Vegas Aces, picking away at any flaw they can find. After losing six games in the regular season this year, it makes sense for the Aces to get easier to beat as time goes on.This is where innovation will come in and be a decisive factor for next season. Teams around the league are going to be trying new things in hopes of beating the Aces. The organization now has a target on its back. The Aces are not going to finish with less than ten losses next season. Las Vegas is now arguably more vulnerable than ever with so much tape out there on their strategies. Someone is going to be able to dissect their dominance eventually.Related: Best places to bowl in Las Vegas!
#2 Becky Hammon quits
[caption id="attachment_40691" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Source. YouTube[/caption]
Becky Hammon is now a two-time WNBA Championship-winning coach and has increased her stock as a result. This is excellent news for Hammon and opens up the possibility of her eventually leaving to coach an NBA Team. I mean, there has to come a point where Hammon wants to test her luck in the NBA. She should do it while there's interest in her being there. She could try to make history as the only coach to win three championships in a row and then go on to The NBA. That way, she can prove just how much she learned under Greg Popovich.
#1 Las Vegas Aces win third straight championship
[caption id="attachment_40473" align="alignnone" width="1024"] Source. Facebook[/caption]
The Las Vegas Aces are back-to-back WNBA Champions, and nothing is stopping them from doing it a third time. Las Vegas has arguably the best roster in the entire league, with chemistry that other organizations only dream of. Unless this team makes a significant change or suffers a bad injury, they are going to be tough to beat. The Aces are going to come back even stronger after Chelsea Grey and Kiah Stokes return from injury. There’s also A’ja Wilson, Kelsey Plum, and Jackie Young, who are becoming a big three ensemble. A’ja Wilson dominated with an average of 22.8 points and 9.5 rebounds. Plum has averaged 18.7 points and 2.4 rebounds in the regular season. Then there's Jackie Young, a woman who has absolutely rocked it on defense and finished with 17.6 points and four rebounds. There is no stopping this team.Next: Getting ready for The Las Vegas Grand Prix
