Las Vegas Aces[/caption] The Las Vegas Aces are riding high after back-to-back wins, starting with a 104-85 blowout victory over the Dallas Wings. Dallas had the lead in the opening quarter but were outscored by five or more in the following three periods. Las Vegas even managed to outscore the Wings by nine in the third and seven in the fourth. A’ja Wilson led the Aces with 28 points, two assists, and ten rebounds in the victory against the Wings. Kelsey Plum also chipped in 23 points, three assists, and one rebound. The victory moved the Aces to second in the Western Conference and fourth in the overall WNBA standings.

#4 Raiders reportedly make big mistake with Gardner Minshew contract

[caption id="attachment_57225" align="alignnone" width="819"]Las Vegas Raiders, Gardner Minshew, Las Vegas sports, Source. Las Vegas Raiders[/caption] The battle between Aidan O’Connell and Gardner Minshew rages on with no clear indication of who the starter will be. Both Las Vegas Raiders quarterbacks reportedly struggle in practice and have trouble with consistency. A new article from Vic Tafur of the Athletic claims O’Connell is getting the upper hand, though it might be bad news for the Raiders. “O’Connell had some momentum going during the team’s spring workouts, and maybe he can pick that up again when training camp starts,” Tafur wrote in a July 2 mailbag. “He can make all the throws and has a little swagger to him this year. I don’t think the Raiders would’ve given Minshew $15 million guaranteed in March if they knew O’Connell was going to get in better shape and have a real air of confidence this spring. But they did, so we’re going to battle.” It will be interesting to see who gets the starting job after this update and whether the Raiders made a mistake with this signing. It is worth noting that Minshew was the second-best option in the 2024 free agency class and brings much veteran experience to the team.

#3 John Cena announces WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas will be his last

[caption id="attachment_57226" align="alignnone" width="819"]John Cena, WWE, WrestleMania 41 Las Vegas, WWE[/caption] Las Vegas is set to host WrestleMania 41 in April 2025, and WWE is already laying the groundwork for something special. During last Saturday’s Money in the Bank pay-per-view, John Cena announced that 2025 would be his last year of active competition. Cena also shocked fans when he announced that WrestleMania 41 in Las Vegas would be his final event. He ruled out being a special guest referee or any other kind of television role.  The news comes after what can only be described as 22 years on the top of his game. Cena is a 16-time world champion, WrestleMania headliner, and overall superstar.  More: What experts are saying about the 2024 Las Vegas Raiders

#2 Joshua Jacobs complains again

[caption id="attachment_57227" align="alignnone" width="1024"]Josh Jacobs, Las Vegas Raiders, Las Vegas, Source. Sick EditzHD[/caption] Joshua Jacobs can’t stop running his mouth about the Las Vegas Raiders. Jacobs, now a member of the Green Bay Packers, took another shot at his former team recently when discussing his move to Green Bay. "I would say one of the main reasons was just the certainty of what I’m going to get," Jacobs said. "There’s already a lot of structure. There’s already a lot of stuff in place. Having another new head coach over there [in Las Vegas], my fourth head coach while I was there, I never felt like there was any stability.” Things went sour between Jacobs and the Raiders in 2022 when the organization declined his fifth-year option despite Jacobs being the leading rusher that year and a big part of the Raiders offense. The two sides debated over a contract during the offseason, leading to Jacobs sitting out of training camp and only getting a $10.1 million franchise tag. Jacobs returned to the team after the deal was signed but struggled for much of the season. He ultimately suffered a season-ending injury, which was probably the final straw for the organization.

#1 Jonathon Marchessault signs with the Nashville Predators

Jonathon Marchessault is now a member of the Nashville Predators after signing with the organization last week. The news comes after weeks of speculation that Marchessault and other Las Vegas Golden Knights members were on the chopping block. However, Marchessault didn’t wait around and signed with the Predators in free agency. He also recently talked to reporters and revealed how little the Knights seemed to care about him.  "It was pretty tough, to be honest. The tough part of it was there wasn't a decent offer on the table," Marchessault said. "It's part of the business and they probably have other plans. That's the business we're in so you move on and I think Nashville was the best fit for me. I'm at a point in my career where I don't want to just play hockey games. I want to win hockey games."
