I thought it would be
the Usual Place with the usual suspects.
I'd stalked Little Miss Nasty's Instagram and YouTube channel, preparing for
my chat with the creator and founder, Gina Katon. So, I believed I had an idea of what the show would be like.
I was wrong.
LMN's Nov 17 show was custom-made for Vegas, an adult, high-energy spectacle with short, intense performances set to thumping metal music. The show featured songs from their upcoming album,
Weapon of Choice, among other recognizable hits.
What I did not expect was the utter diversity of the crowd between male and female, LGBTQ, and even late-aged boomers. Nor did I predict how well the production would maximize the ability of the space in structure and delivery.
All the performers/ladies in LMN were intent on delivering a fantastic production. The show allowed each singer to showcase her abilities, with no clear performer stealing the spotlight.
The athleticism and sheer talent of the ladies were mesmerizing; think stylish acrobatics on a “monkey bar” setup. I doubt if I could twist like that if you paid me.
There were several reversal roles from the performers, challenging gender stereotypes without emasculating the men in the audience. LMN managed to be raunchy and offensive, while never insulting the audience's intelligence. However, there were segments of the show that will no doubt ruffle some feathers; this is truly a show for adults, by adults.
The intensely sexual performance was juxtaposed with imagery such as tiny music box dancing ballerinas projected on the wall behind them. I might be reading too much into this as a woman, but I immediately picked up on the social commentary. As an audience member, you get to choose- do you want to find a more profound message, or do you want to be entertained? The choice is yours, and they are both good options.
But enough of this deep shit.
Little Miss Nasty’s show was crazy entertaining, the music was badass, and the girls, well, they were
hot.
Make sure that you look for their upcoming album,
Weapon of Choice, in January 2024 and their
return residency at Area 15 next year.
