Take this rumor with a grain of salt, but it appears that Bill Belichick is shopping around Mac Jones. What's interesting about this is Las Vegas is supposedly one of the teams taking a look at him, almost like they have no idea what they are doing and throwing things up against the wall.
According to Mike Florio of Pro Football Talk, the Raiders, the Texans, the Buccaneers, and the Washington Commanders are all possible suitors.
#4 Patriot way or bust for Josh McDaniels?

The chips are on the table, and it's time for Josh McDaniels to prove himself. So far, he's accomplished this by bringing in former Patriots, leading many to believe he is going for the Patriot Way. What's weird about this is he promised he wouldn't do this during a previous interview.
Now the man that claims to be no Billicheck has signed a slew of former Patriots with a quarterback that served as backup to Tom Brady. It should be more than obvious what he is doing. He's looking for any staff, former player and coach who can save his career.
While McDaniels might be keeping his promise that he is no Billicheck, he is trying to replicate his success. Furthermore, he is trying to do so with many of Billicheck's former weapons.
#3 Agent claims the Raiders have been trying to trade Darren Waller since 2022

The Raiders recently traded Darren Waller to the Texans, which many found surprising. Of course, Waller has a history of getting injured, but he's still a top receiver. Unfortunately for Waller, a new report claims that the Raiders started shopping him around during the preseason. This means that while the recent move was a big shock for fans, the Raiders wanted it all along.
According to Drew Rosenhaus on The Pat McAfee Show: "The Raiders were in negotiations last year to trade Darren. Darren was very nearly traded last off-season. The Packers and the Dolphins were very interested in Darren at that time, but the trade didn't happen. The Raiders pulled back I think right before those deals could get done."

#2 Tom Brady was the backup plan

Raiders fans would probably jump at the chance to have Tom Brady as their quarterback and it almost happened. In two cases, Las Vegas eyed the six-time Super Bowl champion as their big chance. The first occurred in 2020 when Brady and Rob Gronkowski were supposedly a done deal for the Raiders.
Unfortunately, Jon Gruden didn't want to coach a 45-year-old quarterback and felt safer sticking with Derek Carr. Fast forward to 2023, and there were again talks of bringing Brady to Vegas. Of course, that didn't work out, leaving the team with Jimmy Grappollo.
#1 Long-term quarterback plans are still uncertain

The Las Vegas Raiders grabbed Jimmy Garroppolo in free agency, but they aren't stopping there. In fact, the Raiders have also signed Brian Hoyer to a two-year deal and are looking toward the draft for more. This doesn't sound like the Raiders have their Quarterback situation figured out.
According to BroBible: "The Las, Vegas Raiders have also been rumored to be interested in trading up for the 3rd overall pick, so the Titans could face competition if they do decide to pursue a trade. The Raiders made a free-agency splash by signing former 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo but he's probably not viewed as the long-term answer at the position."
Why pay Garroppolo if he's a short-term answer? That harkens back to the Raiders signing Derek Carr for $121.5 million and then releasing him.
