It took two interceptions, a fumble, and a few touchdowns from Joshua Jacobs, but the Raiders got the job done in their final game of the season.
#5 Raiders get a stop in the first quarter to force a field goal.
While Drew Lock and the Broncos were able to get downfield on their second drive of the first half,
the Raiders' defense started making things difficult. Melvin Gordon even got in a few key run plays to help move the ball a little. Unfortunately for the Broncos, all momentum stopped when they made it to the RedZone, and they had to settle for a field goal after making it to the Raiders' nine-yard line.
This was a key win for the Raiders' defense. It might even be enough to inspire hope that they'll continue to thrive.
#4 Derek Carr to Darren Wallner for a 28-yard score
Believe it or not, we have to go all the way to the second quarter to get our second highlight. Of course, the Raiders were aided by some great work on special teams, but Carr wasted very little time picking his opponents apart. This resulted in Carr eventually connecting in the endzone with Wallner for a 28-yard touchdown, a huge momentum shift for the whole team.
#3 Derek Carr s 26-yard pass to Bryan Edwards.
It started out with a pair of short throws to Theo Riddick that resulted in a 20-yard gain. After that Carr found
Henry Ruggs III for a 15-yard gain and a chance for a comeback. Unfortunately for the Raiders, Carr would be plagued by a few unlucky passes that almost put the game out of reach. Then, a five-yard penalty for a false start gave the Raiders a fresh set of downs to work with.
And work with them, Derek Carr did. This time he would find Bryan Edwards in the endzone for a 26-yard touchdown. Keep in mind that one of the biggest criticisms about Carr was that he struggles to come up clutch, but this time he did against all odds. Sure, it took a penalty and a few failed passes, but Carr scored when the moment counted.
#2 Josh Jacobs runs it in for a 28-yard score.
Joshua Jacobs is an elite running back, and he proved it by putting the team on his back for a 28-yard touchdown in the fourth quarter. Not only would this play tie the game at 24, but it also came after a fumble and two interceptions by Derek Carr. This is proof that Jacobs can punch one in there when it's crunch time.
#1 Josh Jacobs one-yard touchdown to win the game.
Although the Las Vegas Raiders have struggled on defense all season long, it was disappointing to watch them allow the Denver Broncos downfield for a score in three plays. However, what was very encouraging to see was Derek Carr, Josh Jacobs and Darren Wallner working together to make sure they got the victory. It all started off with a one-yard run that tied the game at 30.
The Raiders weren't interested in just tying the game, however, and even decided to go for a two-point conversion. Insanely enough, Carr was able to find Darren Wallner for the score. In the end, that two-point conversation wasn t just a way to win the game; it was a statement to show just how good the Raiders could have been this season.
