The last time Las Vegas hosted WrestleMania was in 1993- and it was a disaster.  WrestleMania 9  is actually considered one of the worst shows in the event's history. 

From Giant Gonzaleses' spray-on bodysuit to the shenanigans in the main event, there was just nothing to be happy about. The ending, which featured Brett Hart losing to Yokozuna, was overshadowed at the last second by Hulk Hogan storming the ring and challenging the heel for the belt. Hogan would take the win in seconds, leaving everyone in absolute confusion about how he got away with it.
