Ryan Reaves has officially been suspended for two games after hitting a Colorado Avalanche player in the back of the head and bashing his skull against the ice. Reaves even managed to pull out some hair in the scuffle. 

Other fights broke out as a result of the original melee, creating an interesting ten-minute power play situation for the Avalance, who capitalized by scoring another goal.

While Reaves's motives aren't exactly known, some believe his actions were retribution for a hit in the first period that took out Mattias  Janmark for the entire game.  

In the end, Reaves stuck up for his teammate and fought for his team, but he's going to spend some time on the couch as a result of his actions.
