Jon Gruden resigned as head coach of the Las Vegas Raiders earlier this year after emails came to light that showed him using homophobic, misogynistic, and racist terms to describe several players. Gruden's resignation came after a 20-9 loss to the Chicago Bears and the promise of more emails being released if he didn't step down. However, according to Vic Tafur of The Athletic, the Raiders organization has reached a 40 million dollar settlement with the former head coach.

Gruden already earned an estimated $40 million from his ten-year, $100 million deal, meaning the organization only managed to shave 20 million off the final price. While Gruden will come away with a pretty big payday and go down as the latest victim of cancel culture to some, Mark Davis claims that what has transpired hurt Gruden. He even mentioned the idea of redemption for Gruden at some point, which could be interesting to see play out.

"He's hurt, he's hurt, and I understand that," Davis said. "But he understands the ramifications of what he said. I love Jon, and I love his family. We all have demons in our lives, and you have to understand that, and you also have to look at redemption as well."
