What does the future hold for Derek Carr and The Las Vegas Raiders? That is the question everyone in Raider Nation is still trying to figure out as rumors swirl around the franchise Quarterback. With that being said, head coach Josh McDaniels has made it clear that he wants to work with Carr in 2022, and it doesn't look like much will change that.

While McDaniels admitted last week that the team has not officially opened talks about a contract extension for Carr, it seems like that is the plan going forward. McDaniels also made headlines this week by claiming that Carr will likely be the starter in Week 1 of 2022, only furthering the idea that a deal is coming soon. How much it will ultimately be worth remains to be seen, but Carr is supposedly hoping to be one of the highest-paid QBs in the league.

"But that doesn't mean that's not going to change," McDaniels said. "I've met and spoken to Derek a number of times now, just trying to begin our relationship. I think it's really an important one -- the head coach, the play-caller, the quarterback, getting to know one another as people. Kind of how we think. How we work. The football part of that will come later."
