Our summer-long VEGAS 411 series of "One Night Stands" just keeps chugging into the fall. With so much talent and excitement ahead in the next few weeks, you will surely have an exciting evening on the town. Here is the latest crop of great one-time shows.
He's the undisputed "King of Christmas" in Las Vegas, but Travis Cloer (JERSEY BOYS, BAT OUT OF HELL) fills showrooms nationwide all year. Now he officially bids farewell to summer with "The Frankie Valli Songbook". a showcase of timeless songs.
Travis has hand-picked his musicians, and many have been on the Jersey Boys train right along with the star of the show. Cloer promises to deliver the classics as only he can. "Sherry", "Can’t Take My Eyes Off of You", "Walk Like a Man", and "Oh, What A Night" are just a few of the selections in this hit parade.

SETH RIOBICHAUX at Taverna Costera - Fans of Seth Robichaux tell me that this is a show not to be missed. Gender-bending and genre-hopping, Robichaux brings humor, music, and variety to Taverna Costera on August 22nd starting at 8 pm.

MJ THE EVOLUTION at Orleans Showroom - The Las Vegas mega production has become an international sensation. Now it returns to Sin City for one night only to Orleans Casino Showroom. The date is August 29th is 8 pm. Get tickets by heading here.
Carol-Lyn and the ALL-STARS at VAMP'D - Friday, August 30th is when Carol-Lyn (HERSTORY) and her band take to COUNT's VAMP'D Rock and Roll stage for a free show with guests Saints of Las Vegas. MARK O'TOOLE at Starbright Theater - a rare evening edition of the Mark O'Toole Variety Show has landed at Summerlin's Starbright Theater. Prolific producer Mistinguett has added O'Toole to her entertainment showcase "The Rendezvous". Tickets for this edition on August 27th were nearly gone as of this publication. AMANDA KING at Mob Museum - August 31st at 8 pm, jazz great Amanda King and her Prohibition Three light up THE UNDERGROUND. Classy, sassy, irreverent, and a whole lotta fun, Ms. King personifies the prohibition era with her musical stylings. Details here.
KAREN HESTER as Dolly Parton - The music of beloved country star Dolly Parton comes to Starbright Theater on September 7th at 6 pm. Karen Hester of LEGENDS IN CONCERT and Battle of the Cover Bands takes center stage in this "ultimate tribute". Tickets are $35 and can be ordered here.
MICHELLE JOHNSON at Myron's Cabaret - September 8 is the date and female resilience is the theme of "It's My Turn". Pianist Joey Singer joins the glamorous Michelle Johnson for another knockout show at Smith Center's intimate Myron's Cabaret.
"Encompassing a variety of genres including Broadway, jazz, pop, opera, and more, the show will feature the music of Nina Simone, Diana Ross, Barbra Streisand, Ella Fitzgerald, Kelly Clarkson, Tina Turner, Martina McBride, and many more powerful and inspiring women. The show will be presented in an unplugged format."

JULIAN MIRANDA and Friends - Summerlin's Starbright Theater is working overtime to bring you great entertainment, and Julian Miranda definitely fits that description. The man-about-town has been gracing Vegas stages nonstop, and on September 10th, he teams with Mistinguett Productions for a "Blues, Jazz, and Soul" edition of The Rendezvous. Tickets are only $20. MR. NOBODY at Notoriety's Concerts for a Cause - Also on September 10th, AGT's Michael Grimm joins musical master Bill Zappia and soul singer Jimmy Trip in the latest edition of "Concerts for a Cause".
"Three incredible musicians as they take the stage as a vintage speakeasy trio! Mr. Nobody plays vintage blues jazz like you have never experienced before!" Ticket sales benefit educational arts programs. All ages are welcome. Showtime is 7 pm, tickets start at $40 and can be reserved here.
BROOKE WILKES at Maxan Jazz - Brooke Wilkes returns to Maxan Jazz on September 13th with SHEROES, a tribute to female idols of the 70's & 80's. Featuring hits by Cher, Olivia Newton-John, Pat Benatar, Ann Wilson, Barbra Streisand, Diana Ross, Stevie Nicks, Madonna, Blondie, and more.

The next entry might be a "two-nighter", but since it comes from a pair of beloved producers, we'll bend the rules. Kathi and Alan Glist (MENOPAUSE: The Musical, THE BRONX WANDERERS) bring musician Artie Butler to The Composers Room on September 13 and 14.
Artie Butler is billed as "the most famous man in the music business you never heard of." A true multi-hyphenate, his list of accomplishments as a producer, composer, arranger, musical director, and musician is massive. Diverse names like Louis Armstrong, Vicki Lawrence, Helen Reddy, Neil Sedaka, Joe Cocker, Barry Manilow, Barbra Streisand, and Dionne Warwick have been lifted by Mr. Butler's talents. Now you can experience his hits in an intimate environment.

KELLY VOHNN BY REQUEST at Italian American Club - This is a really fun concept! Multi-faceted entertainer Kelly Vohnn returns to the IAC on September 18th with a showcase of songs that YOU select:

'JONATHAN KARRANT: One For My Baby' at Myron's Cabaret - It's time to balance out all that female glamour with the manly grace of Jonathan Karrant. The prolific entertainer is back at Smith Center's 240-seat cabaret on September 25th with a salute to lyricist Johnny Mercer ("Summer Wind", "Autumn Leaves", "Moon River").

I recently had the pleasure of meeting Zonya de Laguardia, and she was an absolute joy. Now it's time to experience the vocalist onstage, and her next appearance at The Composers Room may be the ticket. Here's the official description:
