SNOOZE A.M. Eatery - Wake Up to Smiles
Multi-location breakfast diner is a great way to start the day...
Are you one of those people that needs to be avoided until the coffee kicks in? It doesn't have to be that way. Head on over to SNOOZE A.M. Eatery and you just might become a "morning person" yourself.
SNOOZE A.M. Eatery might remind you of RISE & SHINE, a pair of Vegas-based restaurants we told you about here. And although the staff at SNOOZE doesn't wear pajamas like their counterpart, its team is as happy as they come. And we all know that a smile is contagious.
Changing tastes and a troubled economy have caused the demise of hundreds of restaurants in recent years. Yet SNOOZE continues to grow and thrive. VEGAS 411 was invited to visit the Summerlin location on S. Rampart Boulevard. There's a brand new spot near Durango Casino, with others sure to follow. SNOOZE restaurants stretch from Georgia to California, with dozens in between. They must be doing something right.
SNOOZE appears to be very basic yet inviting from the outside. A vestibule lined with plotted plants flanks their spacious outdoor dining patio, with oversized games like cornhole spotted here and there. Separating the patio from the interior is a two-sided bar, providing plentiful indoor and outdoor counter seating.
The main dining room is bright, yet not overly so. Orange tones, shades of avocado, and dozens of atomic jack shapes will have you thinking "Groovy Sixties!". The retro motif is carried over onto glassware, plates, and menu designs. But the most satisfying old-school touch is service, which is exemplary.
It's often said that you can tell when a person loves their job. And everyone I encountered at SNOOZE was bubbly and cheerful without seeming fake or obligatory. I believed that team members genuinely wanted me to enjoy my visit. And enjoy it, I did.
I arrived at the mid-point of lunch hour on a weekday. As it closes daily at 2 pm, there was no wait and the number of diners was sparse. All the better to ask questions of my server Cassie and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere. One can only imagine what it's like during weekend brunch hours. Thankfully, SNOOZE takes reservations and offers an online wait list sign-up. You can also order pick-up by heading here.
Whatever your thirst calls out for, the SNOOZE Drinks Menu will have a response. It's truly massive but presented in a playful way that doesn't overwhelm. Traditional coffee and fancier varieties from the Barista Counter, cocktails and mocktails, bubbly mimosas and grand Bloody Marys...they're all here along with fresh juices, lemonade, Boozy Blood Orange Punch, or this fall's Pumpkin Martini.
Being a health nerd, I attempt to balance selections between "indulgence" and "discipline". I knew there would be a splurge in my dining choices, so I started with a freshly-made Super Greens drink. Kale, apples, cucumber, celery, agave, lemon, and ginger made this slightly sweet beverage delicious...so stop saying "Ewwww!". Good-for-you can be great tasting, and this was proof.
Are you hungry yet? Of course you are....that's the reason you're here. And SNOOZE once again offers an array of fun choices, traditional breakfast/brunch favorites, and a few familiar dishes given a twist. Rest assured that ingredients are of the finest quality, sustainable, and fresh. SNOOZE avoids preservatives and artificial ingredients. Eggs are from cage-free suppliers, too. Casual dining with a community-boosting philosophy? Count me in.

With all the delicious-looking choices to pick from, I spotted an interesting riff on traditional Hawaiian Loco Moco. They call it Habenero Pork Belly Breakfast Fried Rice:
Jasmine-garlic fried rice with seared cider-braised habanero pork belly, sautéed red bell peppers, onions, poblanos, carrots, and pineapple. Topped with a drizzle of our house-made Sriracha maple aioli, two crispy sunny-side-up eggs, scallions, and kimchi spice.
You can order your eggs the way you like them. I prefer "over easy", and the dish (see above) was as delicious as you'd imagine. Just the right amount of kick to wake up sleepy taste buds, and the portion size was satisfying without being obnoxious (does anyone clean their plate at Hash House A Go-Go?).
I would have been completely satisfied with one dish...until Cassie suggested I sample something from the Fall Menu. She recommended Pumpkin Pecan Pie Pancakes ($12.25), so I gave them a whirl. And what a terrific choice it was."Don't miss the cream cheese filling in the center!", she urged. But since I downed every magical bite, that wasn't a problem.
Other Fall Menu delights include a Denver Omelet ($15.95), Protein Trio Omelet ($16.25), and a Jalapeno/Cheddar Omelet ($15.95). Autumn harvest is represented in a Pumpkin Martini ($11.25) and Pumpkin Latte ($6.50), along with Butterfly Lemonade and Rejuventate, a fresh juice with prickly pear coconut water, agave, and ginseng ($5.95)
There's so much to taste and enjoy at SNOOZE that it's impossible to cover everything in one article. The best way is to visit yourself, so click here for the list of locations in your area. Chances are that you'll become a regular customer, which is why there's a SNOOZE loyalty program.
MySnooze BennyFits allows you to earn free food, drinks, and "swag". Sign up by heading here and you'll be rewarded with a free Signature Pancake Flight the same day.
Thrifty customers will appreciate a Weekday Happy Hour which offers $5 "Bubbles" and "Bloodys", along with $3 Mocktails. A $10 Weekday Eats menu will stretch your dollars even further. Catering is available, and most restaurants can host private events between 5 pm and 10 pm (click here for details).
The charming simplicity of all-American diners seems to be forgotten. Even Strip casinos have strayed away from 24-hour "coffee shops". Spiegelworld had the opportunity to bring diners back with their new Diner Ross (see our review here) but the menu mucked it up badly (sorry, Ross).
SNOOZE A.M. Eatery is everything you want a breakfast joint to be. It's fun, fast, festive, delicious, and at prices you can raise your cup to. Enjoy!
Special thanks to Summerlin location GM Hector Ramos, Chef Christopher Villano, and Abilgail Brown of B Public Relations
